He’s stayed away from her for almost two years—technically. Even though he talks to her every day and sees her every weekend. But there’s no kissing, touching, or telling her how he really feels.
She wants what her three sisters have—true love. She could almost believe she’s found it with him, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s her older brother’s best friend and her brother won’t have it.
Her solution? A dating site where they can each find their “Perfect Pick” once and for all.
But how will she handle someone else being his soul mate? Or someone else being hers?

Conner and Cody have been best friends since college, where Conner observed Cody treating his girlfriend from high school badly, causing a rift in their friendship for some time. Now that they’re friends again, Conner doesn’t trust Cody as anything but a friend to his youngest sister Olivia. For the past two years Olivia and Cody have been best friends, neither one wanting to ruin his friendship or upset her brother. Add to that the fact that Cody only does easy and has never had to put an effort into anything, much less the women in his life. So far, I’m good with this premise. Here’s where I take issue with the story. Cody eventually admits to Olivia that he’s been in love with her the entire time, but all the while he's been going through women like a hay fever sufferer goes through tissues in August. Being BFFs, Olivia not only gets to watch the hook-ups happen in living color, she gets the post-game analysis. Then Cody tells Olivia that all those women he's been wick dipping with were simply his attempt to forget about her. What girl wouldn’t swoon at that wimpy, illogical copout as a declaration of undying love? But wait, there’s more. Olivia realizes that Cody really does love her when she talks to said wick reservoirs who tell her they hate her because Cody always talked about her and wouldn’t give them his full attention during their one night together. That’s enough to make any girl's heart go pitter-pat, am I right? And then, the icing on the cake? Somehow things get turned around and the blame is all placed on Olivia for keeping Cody in the friend zone and stringing him along. That one gave me whiplash.
I’ve enjoyed all the books in the Everyday Heroes series and have read all the way through Day Shift and Night Shift to this point and thoroughly enjoyed them. I liked Olivia and Cody, in spite of his fatal flaws, but he really didn’t do much to deserve Olivia after all the earlier monkey business. In fact, if anyone deserves credit for magnanimity and grand gestures, it's the brother, Conner! This book is well written and the storyline kept my attention, so it was an easy and entertaining read in that regard. I love all the characters from the other books and was hoping to catch up a little more with some of them and the details of their lives that had been set up in their books, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. If you’re reading the series, you may not want to pass this one up, but I could just as easily have skipped it and saved myself the irritation of an unredeemed hero.

Going For Four Just Everyday Heroes Night Shift edition by Erin Nicholas Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Another fantastic story by Erin Nicholas! This is book four in the Counting on Love series and one of my favorite stories. I have loved reading every story that came before this one, but what I really like is that no matter how much I enjoy one of Erin's books the next one is just as good or even better than the last. Her stories are always hot and steamy, and they feel so real to life that they will make you laugh, cry, and even want to scream at a few of the characters while you're falling in love with them. Her stories are so well written that I can picture the scenes very clearly as I'm reading.
Olivia Dixon is the youngest of four girls, and she really wants to experience true love just like her sisters. She believes in romance and true love and thinks she could have that with her best friend Cody even though they have never even kissed. The only problem is that her older brother has forbidden his best friend to date his baby sister. She knows she should trust her brother, but...
Cody Madsen is Olivia's boss, and he's also her best friend. He sees her every day and has kept his feelings for her to himself knowing that her brother does not want them together as a couple, but he does not know how much longer he can keep from not kissing her or seeing where that kiss may lead them.
Olivia decides that they both need to join a match making site before they do something with one another that may destroy their friendship and ruin her brother's trust in both of them. Some unexpected dates occur that cause them to look at their relationship more closely. Will dating other people push them apart or make them realize that their feelings for each other are worth all the risks?
I absolutely loved the relationship between Olivia and Cody. And I will be seeing chocolate chip cookies in a whole new way.
Olivia Dixon is the youngest of 4 sisters and 1 brother. Her family regards her as the “baby”, the “danty one”, the one to handle with kid gloves, or she might crack. Olivia would do anything for her sisters and especially her brother, including turning her back on the one man that is her perfect match.
Cody Madsen can’t believe his happily ever after is the little sister of his best friend. The same best friend who thinks he wouldn’t be able to offer anything but heartbreak to any woman he dates. Can he change everyone’s mind about who he really is?
Olivia and Cody have some mad chemistry, chemistry they both admit to but they have to keep under control so Connor doesn’t find out. They’ve made rule after rule to keep their thoughts totally clean toward one another. But those rules don’t mean a thing when Cody sees Olivia naked emerging from the bathroom. All cohesive thoughts go out the window at that point. They decide the only way to truly get over each other is to date other people. Olivia sets up a profile for each of them on a dating website and they both find matches. When Cody realizes he’s been stood up for his date he goes to leave the restaurant and sees Olivia. She realizes she’s been stood up too, they surmise that maybe they were matched with each other by the computer. Even the computer thinks they belong together. Will they keep their relationship hands off or go with the force that seems to be constantly pushing them together?
Cody and Olivia both want to keep Connor happy and risk his wrath if he finds out they are together. Together they realize that it isn’t just about making Connor happy or risking his disappointment. They have to come together and find a way to develop their relationship outside of their friendship. After some trickery, of course, using the dating app, some misunderstandings, awkward dating while loving someone else, a sex club (cue visit from Mac AND Dooley squeal), deep down soul confessions and a TON of chocolate chip cookies, they figure out they can definitely have the best of both worlds.
Going for Four continued a wonderful series involving the Dixon family (spun from the Bradford series) in which you get totally sucked into the family dynamics. These are people I would love to hang out with in real life. Ms Nicholas once again has you along for the ride of your life. I can’t recommend these 2 series’ enough. Just Everyday Heroes are just what I need in my every day life!!
