On the run from a posse and bounty-hunters, The Cherokee Kid is drawn into the problems of a widow with two small children and if forced to protect them from a greedy cattle baron. Only his lightning draw and nerves of steel can protect the small family from the forces massed against them. This is western action on the cutting edge.
The Cherokee Kid edition by David Tienter Literature Fiction eBooks
I've read four of David Tienter's novels now. "Doc Holliday: Hard Ride," "Not Done Yet" and "Playing with Fire." This book, “The Cherokee Kid,” a western, is his latest. Its primary character is described as a “half breed”—part black man, part Indian—which makes him hated by many in the late 1800s era. Especially when he takes up with a white woman who's being intimidated and persecuted by a white land baron. But this is more than a story about race. It's about a man who doesn't waste words or bullets. Like Tienter's other stories, this one has a principal character who's fearless and willing to take on any challenge in the name of doing what's right. You don't want to get on the wrong side of the Cherokee Kid, but even when he's doling out justice, the author endows him with morality that's impossible to ignore.
Get ready for a good ride, and some bootless treks across the burning desert. The book is about 140 pages, all good reading.

The Cherokee Kid edition by David Tienter Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
From the beginning with lots of action to the very end of the book. Good reading with a twist in the story.
I have read all David Tienter's books and enjoyed all of them. I recommend you try one and you will go back for more.
Tienter spins a good story with interesting characters and lively action. Think you'll enjoy this book as much as I did.
In Westerns, a classic genre in American literature. its readers look for certain familiar ingredients high drama, the lonesome hero, the distressed widow homesteader, gun fights, the greedy cattle baron, a snarly gunslinger, a loyal horse, true love (but not too gushy) a crooked sheriff, the posse chasing the wrong guy, trusting deals made with handshakes, Indians, good and bad, lots of guns, instant justice, and the climatic shoot-out. And most importantly , Westerns value old-school integrity that separates the good guys from the bad guys. THE CHEROKEE KID has all this and much, much more. It is so well written that I found it difficult to put down. The story, with all its twists and turns, is told with zest and pace, by an obviously agile author. It’s done in clear, economy-of-style prose, which makes it easy to visualize every scene. I especially appreciated the brief poetic descriptions of dawns and sunsets. All in all, I found this a delightfully refreshing and uplifting read.
