Magic for Marigold is a 1929 novel written by L. M. Montgomery. It is an expansion of 4 linked short stories Montgomery wrote and originally published in 1925.
The eccentric Lesley family could not agree on what to name Lorraine's new baby girl even after four months. Lorraine secretly liked the name Marigold, but who would ever agree to such a fanciful name as that? When the baby falls ill and gentle Dr. M. Woodruff Richards saves her life, the family decides to name the child after the good doctor. But a girl named Woodruff? How fortunate that Dr. Richards's seldom-used first name turns out to be... Marigold! A child with such an unusual name is destined for adventure. It all begins the day Marigold meets a girl in a beautiful green dress who claims to be a real-life princess.

If you're someone who loves L. M. Montgomery you will enjoy this book. It is filled with many of the things that make her stories endearing: interesting characters and wonder-filled settings. Marigold Lesley is a character in her own right, full of heart and soul and lots of imagination. I would have given five stars because it was an enjoyable read, but other than the normal development occurring in children as they grow up there was not much character development. Marigold didn't seem to learn from her mishaps but kept repeating them. Another reason I didn't give five stars was because the story ended very abruptly as if Montgomery ran out of steam, or possibly didn't know herself where the story was going.Product details

Magic for Marigold eBook Lucy Maud Montgomery Reviews
This book was gift. I expected it to come in better condition. I love the story. I grew reading this series and wanted to pass it down but could not because of the actual condition of the book.
Another great read from my favorite childhood author. I was delighted to find some of her writing that features characters other than Anne of Green Gables.
Sweet story of Marigold from birth to teens....I completely enjoy all of LMM books, even her more adult stories...BLUE CASTLE.. I put all her books on my ...wonderful books.
love this purchase price was great and shipping excellent i will be back to purchase more thanks so much !!!!
I bought the book for my granddaughter who, at 13 yrs of age, decided red hair and freckles were not an asset... So, Anne was necessary to convince her how beautiful these features are and what an amazing creature a freckled redhead can be! The Anne Shirley books were a
favorite of mine and my sister when we were at M-K's age.
Such a wonderful coming-of-age story with so many twists and turns. I think most of us can relate to the childhood happenings in the story!
I loved it all....reminded me of the girl I once was.
Marigolds is brave, respectful and mindful of observing what happens around her. Wish I could read of what happened but the point of the story is what happens to us as children marks the adults we will become
